Jay Shields Recreational Instructor Jay is currently studying Child Development at Santa Monica College in California. He previously earned professional certification in percussion from the Musicians Institute in Los Angeles, California. Most recently, Jay served as a member of the Applied Behavior Analysis team at the California Institute of Behavior Analysis, Inc., implementing programs in gross and fine motor skills, among other behavior modification programs, for children with autism. In this position, Jay was responsible for collecting and examining data regarding children with autism and making appropriate changes to the prescribed program based on his observations. Jay joined the BIG FUN team in January 2006 and is expected to become an integral part of the fast-growing Ventura County program as he continues to add new children to his caseload and become more and more comfortable in the gymnastics setting and in the BIG FUN method.
