Daniel Hurley Director of Gymnastic Services Dan graduated in 2000 with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from San Jose State University in San Jose, California and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Sports Management from San Jose State. He is also certified in safety by USA Gymnastics. Dan has an extensive background in management and coaching, most recently as the General Manager of the California Gymnastics Center in San Jose, California, where he was responsible for the daily operations of three gymnastics facilities, a staff of 20 instructors, and his own coaching caseload. Dan’s previous coaching experience includes coaching the women’s soccer team at West Valley College in Saratoga, California, where he also managed the $1 million budget of the shipping and receiving department at the Viking College Bookstore. Dan joined BIG FUN in July 2005 and has since taken an active role in BIG FUN’s marketing department, promoting the program in eastern Los Angeles County and the South Bay as well as managing staff at several gymnastics facilities in those areas. Dan has also put his coaching and gymnastics skills to use not only with the children on the gymnastics floor, but also in a section he authored called “Gymnastics Progressions,” which forms part of the recent BIG FUN training manual.
